Practice improv skills in a supportive environment for people of color. All experiences welcome!
About this Event
This workshop will be held online, with an access link emailed to registered participants a day in advance. Class is for POC-identified folx only. We welcome all to join with opt-in/opt-out activities. Come play with us!
Whether you are new to improv or have some previous experience, this workshop is designed to support all self-identified people of color. Untold Improv seeks to:
inspire uninhibited play and encourage failure through the artform (everything is made up on the spot!)
create a safe and affirming space for self-identified people of color
honor our unique ancestral lineages and recognize the power of being in community together
#StaceyTaughtUs
Our first virtual People of Color Improv Class will be in honor of Stacey Park Milbern- a disability justice movement leader who practiced and prioritized joy in movement-building. All proceeds will go to celebrate Stacey's life and legacy with a gift to the the Disability Justice Culture Club, a gathering place for disabled BIPOC community to plan the revolution and chill.
VENMO AT @Yomi-Wrong
DJCC is a collective of disabled and/or neurodivergent queer people of color operating out of East Oakland/Chochenyo Ohlone land. Our organizing efforts center the lives of QTBIPOC.
